About Us

Celerity Logistics specializes in providing daily delivery of time sensitive freight to the "last mile" in the supply chain - from the distribution center to the point of sale. Among its customers are leaders in the retail, life sciences and film processing industries.

The Company started operations in 2001 and has grown rapidly due to its ability to provide enterprise value to its customers. Enterprise value goes beyond the loading dock and provides significant savings and benefits to the entire enterprise through daily delivery of merchandise.

Celerity, with its workforce of over 300 uniformed drivers, can meet all of your outbound and inbound transportation needs. The Celerity philosophy is that its customers are its partners - and the key to success is in minimizing your transportation costs by Accelerating Your Productivity.

Enterprise Value

Celerity focuses on daily delivery of time-sensitive freight for any industry where lower transit time is a value contributor. Industries such as Retail, Life Sciences, Film Processing and others have recognized the many benefits of delivering the merchandise to the customer faster - and are choosing Celerity to get it done.

Reduced Inventory

The faster freight moves through the supply chain, the less inventory is required to meet point of sale requirements. Reduced in-transit inventory frees working capital that can be deployed to other segments of the enterprise. Using Celerity, one of our major customers was able to reduce its in-transit inventory by over $12 million dollars, redeploying this working capital to other areas of the business.

Distribution Center Capacity

In a typical distribution center, a significant amount of floor space is required for "stage and hold" areas. Through daily delivery, freight moves through the DC much more rapidly, reducing the need for this commitment of valuable real estate. This means that the space saved through daily delivery can be used to increase distribution center capacity - thus reducing distribution occupancy costs and often delaying or deferring the need for investment in distribution center expansion or relocation. For example, through changing from a "two times a week" approach to Celerity's daily delivery model, one major customer increased its DC throughput by over 30%.

Flexible Release Time

Most carriers have specific windows in which freight can be released for delivery. Celerity's approach is to create customer-specific routing, thus enabling extremely flexible release times. This enables our customers to extend their freight processing time windows and plan work schedules based on their own needs rather than the release time constraints of the carrier. Once again, the result is increased productivity and savings for the total enterprise.

Closed Loop Tracking System

Celerity's electronic freight tracking system allows customers to track each piece of freight by their own barcode numbers, eliminating the need to correlate carrier shipping labels to inventory control data. Celerity's system also provides customers with the ability to track each piece on a secure web-site. At the end of the closed loop, the system captures electronic POD. The end result: no paper manifest, track on-line by your own barcodes and less time spent at the backdoor receiving merchandise - all resulting in increased productivity.

Pricing by the Piece

Carriers use a multitude of pricing methods - per hundred weight, per skid, etc. Celerity offers the option of pricing by the piece - especially valuable when planning transportation budgets and tracking transportation cost on an "apples to apples" basis. All of these factors create value for the entire enterprise. It's a matter of total value-added, not just the cost of shipping freight. That doesn't mean that Celerity's prices aren't extremely competitive (we've beat out some of the largest shippers in the world). In fact, one of our largest customers increased its gross margin by .2 of a percent due to our approach - a huge savings for a large company.
